    Our initial sessions will be 60 minutes, with a free 15 minute consultation for your first session, assessing your current wellness and creating a personalized plan to fit your unique needs and goals.

    Depending on your needs, preferences and goals, I will draw on my diverse trainings in anatomically-informed injury prevention and rehab, mindfulness-based stress reduction, hatha, vinyasa, yin, pre and post natal, in combination with traditional energetically-led approach of yoga.

IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO DO 1:1 IF I AM A COMPLETE BEGINNER?

It is the best way of beginning your practice of yoga to get one to one tuition. Many people find group practices intimidating and the instructions demanding and hard to follow. It takes time and us working out what your unique alignment needs to be. ‘You don’t have to be perfect to start, you have to start to be perfect!’

i’ve been struggling with my mental health and stress, will 1:1 help?

Yes. Yoga has been proven to be extremely effective in reducing anxiety, inflammation and depression. I encourage students experiencing more acute or extreme symptoms or conditions to also work with medical professionals alongside yoga. Yoga is not a talking therapy, but in moving and breathing we can directly affect the nervous system and quieten negative thinking patterns, so that you can cultivate self-compassion and integrity when you most need it.

What do i need to wear and bring?

Wear comfortable clothes - anything from leggings to shorts to tracksuit bottoms and layer your tops. If we are meeting live at state studio, please bring your own mat and if you have, a blanket. We will be able to use bolsters and other props available at the studio. Start with a cheap yoga mat (you can buy them in studio for £20) and Im happy to advise if you want to kit yourself out on a more luxurious level once you have got going.

im stuck in my practice, will 1:1’s help?

Yes, we need mentorship when we are feeling uninspired and our practice plateaus. It is my job to work out with you what lights you up, what you need to support your life, and which postures, philosophy, breathing techniques and meditations will carry you there.

I am recovering from birth/injury/medical intervention, is it safe to book a 1:1?

As a yoga teacher I am not medically trained, and so need to receive the go-ahead from your GP that you are ‘safe to exercise’. Once you have that, the more information you can share with me about the nature of your condition, injury, treatment etc the better as I will research around the issue widely and draw on my extensive trainings where relevant to support your personalised practice.

How many should I book?

I almost exclusively work with students that are committed for a minimum of 10 sessions, on a weekly basis. We need consistency to transform body and mind. You can buy a block of 10 for a discounted price at state here.

What happens if i need to cancel?

I ask for 48 hours notice, so that I can fill your slot with another client, otherwise the session is payable. I am very happy to book in breaks from our sessions and will always try to offer a second option if you have something serious come up. In return, I will also offer you minimum 48 hours notice and can offer you a cover teacher if I am ill or unavailable.
